Full description
Counting calories is miserable. Weighing rice. Searching a database for "sandwich". Confirming five screens. Nomzo skips all of it: take a photo, get an honest estimate with its range, get on with your day. It won't be exact to the calorie, and it doesn't need to be. Logging most days is the part that works. No account to make. A few quick questions at the start work out a daily target, then the camera is already pointed at lunch. Why an estimate is enough Studies of food diaries keep finding the same dull thing: how often you log matters more than how exactly you log. Lasting past week two is the hard part, so that's what this is built for. Two taps, and it's logged You open the app and you're already in the camera. Tap the shutter. A card slides up with the dish, a calorie estimate like ~780, and the range it probably sits in. Your food log saves itself, and there's an undo button if it got the dish wrong. That's the whole thing. Nothing to search or confirm, and no plate on a scale. When it's wrong, tell it One line does it. Type it, or hold the mic and say "the rice was half that", or "nah, it's a lamb kebab, huge one", and it has another go. Three chips do the quick version: smaller, about right, bigger. You can skip the photo and just say what you ate, which is handy for the sandwich you already finished. Talking works as a calorie tracker too, and it doesn't count against your free photos. Every number comes with its range Each estimate has a range under it and a hand-drawn wavy line that gets wavier the less sure it is. No decimals and no percentages. Nothing here pretends to be exact. Other calorie counting apps will tell you your lunch was 647. Ours says ~650, somewhere between 550 and 750, because that's the honest version. Streaks count the days you logged something, never how you ate, and one missed day a week gets quietly patched. A calorie counter for people who quit calorie counters If you've tried a food diary before and lasted eleven days, this was built for you. Close enough, every day, beats perfect for a week. What you get: a photo calorie counter, a meal tracker that fits in your pocket, a day view with your running total, and a week of history with the big Saturdays marked. Macros are there too if you tap for them, protein included. What you don't get, on purpose: barcode scanning, a food database to search, recipes, meal plans, micronutrients, or a weight chart to feel bad about. Every one of those is why the last calorie tracking app got deleted. What's free 30 photo estimates a month, forever, plus as much typing and talking as you like. Setup ends with a Pro offer you can close. No account, no email address. Nomzo Pro Unlimited photo estimates and a year of history. Yearly starts with 7 days free if you haven't had a trial, and works out about 66% cheaper than paying monthly. Payment is charged to your Google Play account when you confirm, or when the free week ends. A trial converts to the paid yearly plan unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancel any time in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions. Prices are shown in your own currency in the app before you agree to anything. Terms of use: https://nomzo.app/tos Privacy policy: https://nomzo.app/privacy-policy Your food log stays on your phone Meals, photos, notes and numbers live in a database on your device. We don't keep a copy. Asking for an estimate sends the photo off to another company's model to be identified. We don't keep a copy, and nobody is building a library of your lunches. The privacy policy spells out exactly who sees what. Delete the app and your food diary goes with it. Nomzo gives calorie estimates for everyday awareness. It isn't a medical device, and it isn't medical or dietary advice. If you need real precision, there are good apps for that and we'd rather you used one.
