TrustDex

Know what's really in your food, before it's in your trolley. TrustDex is an independent ingredient and nutrition checker built for South African shoppers. Scan a barcode or search by name, and get a clear, honest read on any product in seconds. HOW IT WORKS Every product gets three separate, easy-to-read scores: • Ingredient Quality: checked against known additive, allergen, and processing concerns, so you know exactly what's flagged and why • Nutrition Grade (A–E): based on sugar, saturated fat, sodium, and energy content • Overall TrustDex Score: combines both, so a "clean" ingredient list can't hide a sugar-loaded product No manufacturer pays for placement and no score is for sale. TrustDex scores what's on the label, not what's on the marketing. PERSONALISE IT TO YOUR HOUSEHOLD Set up profiles for the people you shop for, infant, child, teen, or adult, and flag what matters to your family: dairy, gluten, nut allergies, diabetes-related sugar content, cholesterol, asthma triggers, and more. TrustDex highlights products that clash with what you've flagged, right on the result screen. WHAT'S IN THE DATABASE Tens of thousands of real South African grocery products, drawn from major retailers, and growing. Can't find something? Submit it for review and it'll be added to the database once checked. WHY TRUSTDEX • No ads • No manufacturer influence over scores • Clear, consistent scoring, not vague "healthy" badges • Built specifically for the South African grocery aisle, not adapted from another country's labels A limited number of free searches and scans are included; additional credit packs are available in-app. TrustDex isn't medical advice, it's a tool to help you read labels faster and shop with more confidence.
