When you change a DNS record — pointing a domain to a new host, updating an A record, or changing your nameservers — the update does not reach the entire internet at once. It spreads gradually from server to server in a process called DNS propagation, which can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24-48 hours to complete worldwide. Until it finishes, some visitors see the old record and some see the new one.
