VoiceDrop lets you record short voice messages and publish them as temporary notes connected to specific places. Discover notes left nearby, listen to them when you enter the access radius set by the author, and decide how long your own publications remain available. The author decides where the recording can be played and how long it remains available. Once the selected publication period ends, the note expires. PUBLIC AND GROUP NOTES Public notes can be discovered by app users who are in the appropriate location. Group notes are shown in the standard app to users who have a matching GID_ code. The code limits the potential audience, but it does not provide encryption, authentication or strong access control. Anyone who knows a valid code can add it to the app. LOCAL RECORDING LIBRARY Save recordings on your device, add descriptions and organise them into collections. A local recording can be kept independently of any publication on the map. The backup feature lets you export and import recordings together with their descriptions and collections. LOCATION AND ALERTS VoiceDrop uses location data to connect notes to places, find nearby content, calculate distances and verify whether you are within a recording’s access radius. Optional Alerts can notify you about unplayed notes nearby. Background location access is optional and is used for Alerts only after you enable them. Without background location access, Alerts may work while the app is open and in use. Location accuracy and Alert delivery times may depend on the GPS signal, Android system settings, internet connection, notification settings and battery restrictions. VoiceDrop is not an emergency service or a guaranteed data archive. The app is intended for users aged 16 and over.
