Type Master: Typing Speed Test

Type Master is a typing speed test and practice tool for anyone preparing for a typing exam, a data entry job or an office skills check. Run a timed test on your phone or tablet, get your words per minute and accuracy, and train the skills those tests measure, even offline. Many job applications and civil service exams include a timed typing test. Type Master lets you rehearse that format until the real one feels routine. ▸ HOW IT WORKS 1. Choose a test: a quick 15, 30, 60 or 120 second run, a custom length from 10 seconds to 10 minutes, or exam mode for a long timed test. 2. Start typing. The keyboard appears on its own and the clock begins on your first keystroke. 3. Review your score: net WPM, gross WPM, accuracy, error count and characters typed. ▸ EXAM MODE, BUILT LIKE THE REAL THING • Long timed tests of 5 to 30 minutes, the length used by many office and government typing exams. • Plain text without colour highlighting, so you read ahead the way you would from a printed sheet. • Backspace allowed or blocked, to match the rules of the test you are facing. • The standard 10-minute exam is free; choosing the length, locking Backspace and toggling highlighting are part of Premium. ▸ SCORING AN EXAMINER WOULD RECOGNISE • WPM uses the common convention of five characters per word, so your number lines up with desktop typing tests. • Mistakes are counted per word. A single typo costs one word, and a stray space does not throw off the rest of the passage. • Net and gross WPM side by side show how much speed your errors are costing you. ▸ DRILL THE PARTS THAT SLOW YOU DOWN • Numbers: digits and long figures for data entry and accounting roles. • Punctuation: capitals, commas, quotation marks and brackets, which trip up most candidates. • Paragraphs: full sentences that read like a real test passage. • Common words: a fast warm-up before a long session. • My texts: paste a sample passage from your employer or exam board and practise on it directly. ▸ PREPARE ANYWHERE • All practice texts ship inside the app, so it works offline in a waiting room or on the way to an interview. • Six languages: English, Vietnamese, Spanish, Indonesian, Portuguese and Hindi. • Curly quotes, long dashes and other hard-to-type symbols are replaced, so every character is typeable. • Connect a Bluetooth or USB keyboard to practise on real keys, in portrait or landscape. Rotating the screen keeps your test running. • Optional vibration when you make a mistake. ▸ TRACK YOUR READINESS • Charts of WPM and accuracy across your last 30 tests show how close you are to your target. • A two-week view of how many tests you take each day. • Your personal best, your average over the last ten tests and a percentile estimate against typical typists. • A daily challenge based on your own best, daily streaks and achievements at 40, 60, 80 and 100 WPM. • Share a score card of any result. ▸ ADS STAY OUT OF THE WAY No ad is ever shown on the typing screen or on your result, so nothing interrupts a timed test. ▸ PREMIUM (OPTIONAL) The core test, every practice mode, every language, charts, challenges and share cards are free, with a 7-day history and up to three saved texts. Premium removes all ads, keeps your full history and lets you export every result to a CSV file, adds unlimited saved texts and unlocks custom exam settings. Choose monthly, yearly or a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel anytime in Google Play. ▸ PERMISSIONS AND PRIVACY • Internet: used to load ads, process Google Play purchases and send anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. Tests themselves run offline. • Vibration: only for the optional mistake feedback. • No account and no sign-up. Your results and pasted texts are saved on your device only, and what you type is never uploaded. Type Master is a practice tool: scores and percentiles are estimates to help you improve, not an official certificate.
