Full description
GPS Speedometer is an accurate speed tracker, digital odometer and HUD speedometer that works 100% offline — no internet, no account, only one permission (location). Whether you drive a car, ride a motorbike, cycle or sail, this GPS speed tracker shows your real speed measured by satellites, independent of your vehicle's dashboard. MAIN FEATURES • Analog + digital speedometer — a beautiful gauge with a smooth needle and a large digital speed read-out you can read at a glance • km/h, mph and knots — one tap switches the speed units, so it works for cars, bikes, boats and running • HUD mode (head-up display) — mirrors the screen so you can place the phone under the windshield and see your speed reflected on the glass at night • Speed limit alert — set your own limit; the screen flashes red and the phone beeps the moment you exceed it • Trip meter & odometer — distance, maximum speed, average speed and moving time for the current trip • Trip history — every trip is saved on your device; review, or delete trips at any time • GPS signal quality screen — see how good your satellite fix is, right now • Keeps the screen on while measuring, dark battery-friendly design • Works on old phones (Android 4.4+); everything except the map runs with no connection WHY THIS NUMBER — A SCREEN NO OTHER SPEEDOMETER HAS Every app here claims accuracy. None tells you whether the signal is good right now. Tap the accuracy figure and this one does: • The plain verdict — good signal, weak signal, or "the number you see is the last fix received, not your speed now" • The measurements behind it: accuracy radius, age of the last fix, the update rate your phone actually delivers, satellites used out of visible, and whether speed comes from the GPS chip or from distance ÷ time • Three explanations instead of three complaints: why your car's dashboard reads higher (by law it may never read low), why the number trails the car, why it drifts while parked 0–100 KM/H TIMER THAT ADMITS ITS OWN MARGIN • Stop, tap Ready, drive — timing starts by itself, stops at 100 km/h (or 0–60 mph) • Start and finish are interpolated between fixes, so two runs are comparable • Every result carries a ± figure, because a fix once or twice a second cannot pin the exact instant of crossing • If the signal drops mid-run, the run is voided and you are told why • For closed courses only, never on a public road PRIVACY FIRST Your location is used only on this device to compute your speed. Your position, your trips and your track are never uploaded, shared or sold: they stay in the app's local database and you can delete them at any time. The Map tab downloads map tiles from OpenStreetMap when you look at an area for the first time — that request carries the map square, not your identity. The app also sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports (Google Analytics and Crashlytics) so we can see which screens matter and fix what breaks; those contain no location and no personal data. No account is ever required. WHO IS IT FOR? • Drivers who want to verify their car speedometer (dashboards often over-read by 5–10%) • Motorbike and scooter riders with a broken or inaccurate speed gauge • Delivery and ride-hailing drivers who need a trip odometer and distance log • Cyclists, runners, skaters, boaters — anyone who wants to know their real speed TIPS FOR BEST ACCURACY • Use outdoors with a clear view of the sky; GPS speed is typically accurate within 2–5 km/h • The first fix can take up to a minute after you open the app SAFETY DISCLAIMER Do not operate or interact with this app while driving. Set your units and speed limit before you start moving, mount the device securely, and always obey local traffic laws and posted speed limits. GPS speed is informational and can differ from your true speed; it is not a legal defence against speeding tickets.
