Full description

Saarathi is a companion for the Sharana tradition — read vachanas, listen to devotional music, and take part in community events, in Kannada and English. Rooted in the Sharanas' teaching that work itself is worship (kayakave kailasa), Saarathi brings that wisdom into daily life. VACHANAS • Read vachanas with translations and clear, readable Kannada text • A daily featured vachana to start the day with • Search the corpus by word, author, or theme • Learn about the Sharanas — the poet-saints behind the vachanas MUSIC • Listen to musical renditions of vachanas in classical and contemporary styles • Keep listening with the screen off — background playback with lock-screen controls • Download playlists and listen offline, even in airplane mode • Cover art and detail pages for every composition EVENTS • Discover devotional events near you and RSVP • Add events to your calendar with one tap • Scan event QR codes to open details instantly • Receive updates from organizers of events you attend COMMUNITY • Follow publishers and receive their announcements in your inbox • Save your favourite vachanas, compositions, and events • Explore observances, important places, and the people of the tradition • A calendar of observances through the year MADE FOR THE COMMUNITY • Fully bilingual: use the entire app in Kannada or English • Free, with no advertisements and no in-app purchases • Browse most of the app without creating an account — sign in only when you want to RSVP, save, subscribe, or contribute • Community content is moderated, and anything can be reported in the app — see our Community Guidelines at https://www.saarathi.us/legal/community.html Saarathi is built with care for everyone interested in the revolutionary 12th-century movement for equality that arose in and around Kalyana, Kudalasangama, and the Bijapur region of northern Karnataka, India. Lingayats, Veerashaivas, Hindus, and everyone who finds meaning in the vachana tradition will find this app enriching. Questions or feedback: [email protected]
