Full description
Seed packets are printed for the whole of Britain. Last frost lands eleven weeks apart across these islands — early March in the Channel Islands, late May in the Highlands. One date cannot be right for both. Plot moves every sowing, planting, harvest and pruning date to your postcode area, then tells you what this week's weather means for the plants you actually have. WHAT IT DOES Dates for where you are Enter a postcode area and Plot maps it to one of twelve growing zones built from Met Office long-term averages and the RHS frost map. All 124 UK postcode areas are covered. Sowing and planting shift with your zone's last frost week; harvest and first-frost work shift with your first frost week. Pruning is deliberately not shifted. It follows the plant's own dormancy and flowering wood, not your frost dates — moving it would be wrong. Weather warnings that name your plants Most apps show you a forecast and leave the thinking to you. Plot reads ten days of local data and only speaks up when something should change what you do — then tells you which of your plants is at risk. • Ground frost, not just air frost. The Met Office rule is that 0-4°C on a clear, still night means frost by morning. Plot combines the overnight low with cloud cover and wind across the whole night window, so it catches frosts that a simple "below zero" test misses. • It knows what you planted. If your plan has tomatoes, courgettes and basil in it, the frost warning names them. • Soil temperature, not air. Direct sowing wants soil above 7°C at 6cm. Plot watches that and gives you a green light when it arrives. • Also heat above 28°C, strong winds, heavy rain, and dry spells where nothing gets watered for you. A year you can see at a glance Every plant's sowing, planting, harvest and flowering runs as a band across one line. Put your beds and containers in once and you can read the whole season in a second, then work out what follows what. 245 plants, properly researched 123 crops and 122 ornamentals, each with its own dates, spacing, depth and companion notes. Fruit and ornamental pruning windows for 37 perennials. Built to be used outdoors Works offline once opened — the whole plan, the plant library and the guides are stored on your device, so a shed with no signal is fine. Installs like an app. No ads anywhere. Private by design No advertising trackers. Web fonts are served from our own domain, so no third party is told what you are growing. A postcode area is as precise as location gets — Plot never asks for GPS. WHO IT IS FOR Allotment holders, vegetable growers, cut-flower gardeners and anyone who has lost a tray of seedlings to a frost that the calendar on the packet said was over. Plot covers the United Kingdom, including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Some parts of the planner need an active subscription. Your plan and everything you have entered stay on your device either way.
