Full description
Idle Britain is a satirical idle game about surviving the UK cost-of-living crisis one pence at a time. It's an incremental clicker where you start with nothing and grind your way up, beginning with the humble goal of a Tesco meal deal and unfolding into a full empire of dodgy income streams, from boiling The Kettle twice to a Vinted side hustle, an Uber Eats double shift and an Airbnb spare room. As an idle game it does the thing the genre does best, your money keeps ticking over while you're away, so you check in through the day, collect what you've earned and push a little further each time. The deeper you go the more it opens up, with new layers unlocking as you play rather than everything dumped on you at the start, so it stays fresh well past the first hour. Along the way there are Martin's Money Tips, scratchcards, bills to dodge and a Meal Deal Loyalty Card that rewards you for coming back, all wrapped in the kind of dry British humour that finds the whole thing funny because the alternative is crying. Prestige by Moving Back In With Your Parents, earn Resilience Points, make real strategic choices about how you claw your way up, and eventually chase Generational Wealth and escape the crisis entirely, if you can. If you like idle games, incremental clickers, prestige mechanics and a proper laugh at the state of things, Idle Britain is a free satirical idle game built by one British developer having a go at the genre. Grind for a meal deal. Punch up at the system. Number go up.
