Full description
Japanese from JLPT N5 to N1 in 797 lessons. Each lesson is a scene: a short dialogue, read aloud line by line, and its words are the lesson's cards. Each level is its own world, with its own cast, drawn by hand: • N5 — a detective agency, in cel ink • N4 — a hot-spring inn, printed like a woodblock • N3 — a newspaper, cut as a line block on newsprint • N2 — a broadcaster, lit like a colour television picture • N1 — the central bank, a draughtsman's drawing, and a kaiseki guild in Gion, sumi on washi A lesson: the scene, then match its words, pick their reading in kana, their meaning, fill a gap in the word's own sentence, and put a sentence's phrases in order. What is in it: • 6,309 words, each a card in the lesson that first uses it • 433 grammar points by level and by what they do, each shown in the scenes that use it, with a gap question and a ★ ordering question in the JLPT's style • 1,918 kanji, with meanings, readings and stroke order (KANJIDIC2) • Hiragana and katakana, a row at a time, read and written • 書き取り: the kanji of each lesson's words, written from what you hear • 25 mock papers, five a level, in the JLPT's current format and timing • 復習: a review schedule of the cards, grammar points and questions you missed • Furigana on or off, the English on or off, a slower voice Free: everything for the first 7 days; after that, lessons 1–10 of every level, the first mock paper of each level, kana, the dictionary and 書き取り. Progress stays on your phone. Signing in (Google or an email link) is optional and carries it to another device. No advertising. The JLPT has published no official vocabulary, kanji or grammar lists since 2010; the lists here are the course's own.
