Uma: easy launcher for seniors

Uma turns a modern Android phone back into something a parent or grandparent can actually use. The home screen is a short list of large, clearly labelled rows. CONTACTS, NOT AN ADDRESS BOOK Contacts shows the phone's own contacts in large type with their photos. Starred contacts come first. Tap someone and there are just two choices: Call or Send message. ADD ONLY WHAT YOU NEED The family chooses which rows appear during setup. Additional apps can still be installed normally from the Play Store, but they only appear on Uma's home screen when explicitly pinned. The first time an app is opened, Uma lets you choose whether to pin it. THE FAMILY SETS IT UP, ONCE Setup is protected by a PIN, so settings cannot be changed accidentally. Choose home-screen rows, pin apps, set the weather town, or change the PIN. There is also a route to Android's own settings and launcher picker, so you are never stuck. WEATHER WORTH GLANCING AT One big number, one word, and one line of advice - “Take an umbrella.” No ten-day forecast, adverts, or account. UNREAD BADGES Messages and Phone show a count when there are unread texts or missed calls. BUILT FOR EYES THAT ARE NOT WHAT THEY WERE Large type, high contrast, generous tap targets, and screen-reader labels throughout. Text also follows the system font-size setting. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO Uma does not collect anything. Contacts are read on the phone and never copied, stored, or transmitted. The only information that leaves the device is the coordinates of the weather town you choose. No adverts, no accounts. AVAILABLE IN English, Polish, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Czech, and Slovak. On Android 13 and later, Uma's language can be set separately from the phone's language. FREE FOR 7 DAYS After seven days, a one-time payment unlocks Setup. The phone itself always keeps working - calls, messages, and every home-screen row remain available whether you have paid or not.
