Store listing

Full description
A radio player that looks like a terminal, because it is one. Radish — radi.sh — puts roughly 50,000 internet radio stations behind a command line. Type a colon, type what you want, hit enter. No hamburger menus, no carousels, no algorithmic feed deciding what you are in the mood for. THE COMMAND PALETTE Everything is a command, and everything is discoverable — start typing and the palette filters as you go. :search jazz — find stations by name :tag shoegaze — browse a genre :country jp / :lang spanish — browse by place :top / :trending / :random — surface something new :play / :pause — transport control :add — add your own stream, if it isn't in the directory :theme gruvbox — repaint the whole app :font fira — change the typeface :export / :import — take your library with you Prefer tapping? Almost everything has a button too — the keyboard is an option, not a requirement. 32 COLOUR THEMES Tokyo Night, Gruvbox, Catppuccin, Rose Pine, Nord, Everforest, Solarized and more — plus a set of CRT themes with optional scanlines and phosphor glow for when you want the radio to look like it was salvaged from 1983. Light themes for daylight, dark themes for everything else. AND FOUR TYPEFACES JetBrains Mono, Source Code Pro, Fira Code and Noto Sans Mono. Set the type size too — the whole layout is a character grid, so it grows with it. FOUR VISUALISERS A spectrum analyser and an oscilloscope, drawn in text. A campfire that burns higher when the music does. And a cat sitting on a balcony over a rainy city at night, which ignores the audio entirely and just rains — there for the times you want the radio on and nothing moving at you. Turn on the live analyser and the meters follow the actual audio coming out of your phone. YOUR LIBRARY, YOUR FILE Favourite what you like. The last 60 stations you played stay in your recents. Add custom stream URLs the directory has never heard of. Then :export copies the whole library to your clipboard as JSON — paste it into a note, mail it to yourself, keep it. :import merges it back on any device, without overwriting what is already there. There is no account, so there is no lock-in. Your library is a piece of text you own. STATION DETAIL WORTH READING Every station has a page: bitrate, codec, transport, country, language, tune-in count, votes — and a randomart fingerprint generated from its ID, the way SSH draws key fingerprints. Track titles appear as the stream broadcasts them. PLAYS IN THE BACKGROUND Full playback notification with controls. Keeps streaming with the screen off. Optional keep-awake if you want to watch the visualiser. HONEST ABOUT THE MICROPHONE PERMISSION radi.sh asks for microphone access for exactly one optional feature: the live audio visualiser. On Android, an app can only sample its own playback through the Visualizer API, and the system gates that API behind the microphone permission — even though no microphone is involved. The feature is off by default. What gets sampled is the radio stream you are already playing, never ambient sound. The samples become bar heights and are thrown away frame by frame. Nothing is recorded, stored, or transmitted. Leave it off and the app never asks. NO NONSENSE No ads. No accounts. No analytics. No crash reporting. No trackers of any kind. Nothing you do in this app is reported to anyone, because there is no server to report it to. Everything it remembers lives on your phone and dies with the uninstall. Station data comes from Radio Browser, the free community-run directory — a genuinely good public resource. Playing a station connects your device straight to that broadcaster's server; radi.sh is not in the middle of your audio. You pay once. That is the entire business model — which is exactly why there is nothing in here harvesting you instead.
