Full description
It is two in the morning, the child is hot, and the questions are always the same. Did I already give something? How long ago? Can I give anything now, and how much? FeverMate is a diary and a reminder for exactly those minutes. You write down what you gave and when; it keeps the running totals, watches the gaps between doses and tells you when the next one becomes possible. WHAT IT DOES • Records temperatures and doses, with the time filled in for you. • Converts a reading from the rectum, mouth, ear or forehead to the armpit reference the dosing rules are written for. • Adds up the last 24 hours as a rolling window, not by calendar day — which is the answer you need at two in the morning. • Watches the gap since the last dose of the same substance and shows when it is up. • Turns milligrams into millilitres of the package you actually have at home, with a photo of the box so you reach for the right one. • Shows the whole day on a timeline: the temperature curve, how much of each daily limit is used and when the next dose is possible. YOU SET THE NUMBERS FeverMate does not invent dosing. Every value — milligrams per kilogram, single maximum, minimum gap, daily limit, age and weight limits, temperature thresholds — is in the settings and you enter it yourself, from your doctor or from the package leaflet. The defaults are copied from a Czech paediatric leaflet and are clearly marked as something to check. If your doctor says otherwise, type the doctor's numbers in and the app repeats those. A separate screen shows the whole decision step by step, with a diagram, so you can see exactly where the app's rules and your doctor's advice differ. WHEN IT SAYS STOP Some situations outrank any dose, and the app says so before anything else: a baby under three months with a fever, a very high temperature, a fever that has lasted several days, a weight that has not been updated for months. Between three and six months a high temperature is not one of those, but the app adds a reminder to have a doctor look at the baby. It also warns when a dose you are recording is above the range, too soon after the last one, or would take the day over the limit — but it never blocks you. If you really did give more than you meant to, that is exactly the moment it has to be possible to write it down, otherwise the day's total is wrong. TWO PHONES, ONE PICTURE Parents take turns. Pair two phones over Bluetooth and they exchange records directly, with no account and no internet. If both of you gave a dose while apart, the app adds the day up after the records meet and tells you if the total went over. NIGHT SCREEN A very dark screen with one sentence, huge numbers and no white light, so nobody wakes up more than necessary. HONEST AND PRIVATE • No accounts, no advertising, no analytics, nothing leaves your phone. • Works completely offline. Reading a package label uses an on-device text recogniser. • Available in 18 languages. IMPORTANT FeverMate is not a medical device. It does not diagnose anything, it does not prescribe anything and nothing it shows is a recommendation to use a medicine. It is a diary that repeats back the dosing instructions you entered yourself. Your doctor, your pharmacist and the package leaflet always take precedence. If you think a child has been given too much, call your local poison centre or emergency services at once.

What's new

• Fix: a temperature taken before the last dose no longer leads to the other medicine group. The app asks for a new reading first. • Sync now: one tap starts the exchange with paired phones nearby. • A clearer summary after syncing: what was added, changed or removed, with details one tap away. • Browse the history 24 hours at a time, or pick a day in a calendar that marks the days with records. • Sharing sends the period on screen. • Settings show how to write to the author.
