Full description
Telepon is a pictogram messenger for families and professionals who communicate with a person with a speech impairment (AAC). This is the caregiver app — for a parent, a relative, a teacher or a therapist. The person you care for uses a separate app, Telepon Special, with a large symbol board on their own device. You build that board and write to them. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Build a communication board: categories, symbols, category covers, position in the grid • Start from a ready-made template or from an empty board • Move a paper board into the phone: photograph its pages, and the app recognizes the symbols and arranges them into folders • Add single symbols from a photo straight into the category you want • Search the ARASAAC library — the search understands meaning, not just the exact word • Write in text or in pictograms • Dictate or type a sentence and have it turned into a sequence of pictograms, then correct it: swap a symbol, add one, reorder, delete • Add a symbol from the chat straight onto the board — as a symbol or as a new category • See what is happening: typing, delivered, online and last seen • Get push notifications about new messages GROUPS AND PEOPLE • Create a group around the person you care for and invite the others with a 6-digit code, a QR code or a link • Roles: owner, administrator, member • Invitations can be revoked, and join requests approved or declined • The other device connects with a pairing code that you confirm on your phone GETTING STARTED 1. Sign up with your phone number — the code arrives by SMS 2. Create a group and build the board 3. Install Telepon Special on the other device and connect it with the code or the QR GOOD TO KNOW • An internet connection is needed: symbols and messages are loaded from the server • No access to contacts or location is requested. The camera, photos and the microphone are used only for a profile picture, for importing a board and for voice input
