The reading sits above the product name, the reason directly beneath. One glance gives the answer, the line under it says why. IT SAYS MAY NOT BE VEGAN WHEN THE LABEL LEAVES IT OPEN Refined sugar that may be bone-char filtered. Natural flavors. Mono- and diglycerides. Glycerin. Lecithin with no source stated. Unspecified enzymes. Stearates. Vitamin D3. None of these can be settled from a pack, so this food scanner does not pretend otherwise. It names them one at a time with the concern attached, and tells you to check the packaging or ask the brand. If the ingredients list is folded, curved, glare-washed or cut off, that part is unknown, not fine. A vegan reading that did not reach high confidence is shown as doubtful too. European packs print E-numbers where American packs print plain names, and this label scanner reads both, so a word or a code you did not recognize comes back explained. It is an estimate, not a vegan certification, and it is not an allergen check. It cannot see cross-contamination, "may contain" traces, or a recipe that changed after the pack was printed, and some additives cannot be resolved from a label at all. A "may contain milk" advisory describes a shared production line rather than the recipe, so the app shows it as an advisory and leaves that decision to you.
