Full description
Pond Hopping is a travel journal that fills itself in. Most travel diaries ask you to type. This one starts from what you already have — your photos, your bookings, your Google Timeline — and works the trip out from there. GET YOUR TRIPS IN WITHOUT TYPING • Start from photos. Pick the photos from a trip you took and it reads the dates out of them, works out where you were, and builds the trip around them. Photos are shrunk on your phone first, so it is quick even on hotel wifi. • Bring in your Google Timeline. If Google has been keeping your location history, every trip you have ever taken is already in it. Export it, drop the file in, and pick the ones worth keeping. The file is read on your phone — nothing is sent until you have ticked them. • Forward a booking. Send any confirmation — flight, hotel, restaurant — and it becomes an itinerary. Forward a few old ones and your history builds itself. • Paste a confirmation and it pulls out the flights, stays and bookings. • Or connect the app to Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini and ask your assistant to go through your inbox and add them for you. EVERY FLIGHT, DRAWN Each flight becomes a line on a globe you can spin. Airports, airlines, distances, and the tail of the aircraft you were on. Years of flying, finally in one place instead of scattered across old boarding passes. EVERY DAY, MAPPED Each day of a trip gets its own map of where you actually went — the places you stopped and how long you stayed. On iPhone and Android the app can note this for you while you are away, and stop when you are home. It is off until you ask for it, nobody else can see it, and there is nothing to remember to switch off. PLAN THE NEXT ONE Flights, places to stay, things booked and things still to book, all on one itinerary. Subscribe to it from Apple, Google or Outlook Calendar and it keeps itself up to date as plans change. AND THE REST OF IT • A journal, with photographs, captions and the day they belong to • Runs, with distance, pace and the route you took • What you spent, in whatever currency you spent it in • Useful phrases for where you are going PRIVATE UNTIL YOU SAY OTHERWISE Every trip is yours alone until you decide to share it. Then it is one link — to a single trip, or to everything — that you can take back whenever you like. There is no advertising, no analytics, and nothing here is sold. Sign in with your email address and a six-digit code. No password to invent, and none to forget.
