Grzybiarz: Mushroom ID & Atlas

Grzybiarz is an app for mushroom foragers in Poland and Central Europe. Species identification, the atlas and downloaded maps work in the forest without signal. IDENTIFICATION FROM A PHOTO Take a photo of a mushroom or pick one from your library, and the app suggests the most likely species. Next to the result you see similar species, including poisonous look-alikes, and the features to check on the specimen. The model runs on your phone, so the photo is not sent to a server. LIVE MODE In the camera preview the app marks fruiting bodies detected in the forest litter and shows three species suggestions with the model's probability. ATLAS AND LOOK-ALIKES The atlas covers 125 species with a description, season, habitat and diagnostic features. A table of 129 look-alike pairs shows how a species differs from mushrooms it is easily confused with. SEASON CALENDAR The year wheel shows which species are coming into season, peaking or fading in a given week. You can follow selected species, and the app notifies you when their season starts. A conditions index based on measurements from Polish IMGW weather stations shows whether the weather favours mycelium. TRIPS The app records your GPS route even with the screen off, counts distance and time, and saves finds with a photo and location. The Return to start screen guides you with a compass to the place where the trip began. You can export a route to a GPX file or send it to Strava. OFFLINE MAPS Map packages for Poland, Czechia and Slovakia download before you leave home, ideally over Wi-Fi. In the forest the map, your route and your finds work without signal. FOREST HUNT In the field game, virtual specimens appear in real forests and parks in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Germany, Austria and Greece. To catch a specimen you identify the species in a quiz. The game keeps a Grzybdex, badges and levels, and the ranking, friends and duels are optional. FUNGARIUM Specimens you photograph in the forest with the app camera join a collection of species cards. With your consent a specimen enters the ranking, and other foragers help confirm the species from the photo. PRIVACY Grzybiarz does not need an account with a password. Your finds stay on the phone until you mark them as public. Trip history with the route goes to your account so that it survives a change of phone. Only you can see it, and you can turn the upload off in settings. Grzybiarz is an assistant and does not decide whether a mushroom is edible. The decision to pick and eat a mushroom is yours. The app is available in Polish, English, Czech, Slovak and German.
