Aperi - Photography Coach

Aperi turns your phone into a second screen and a coach for your Sony camera. Plug in over USB-C or connect over the camera's Wi-Fi and see the live view on your phone, with shutter, aperture, ISO and exposure compensation read straight from the body, not guessed from pixels. Tap to focus. Adjust exposure from the phone. Fire the shutter. Then ask the coach. Every photo the camera takes comes to the phone, and one press sends it to an AI coach with your exact exposure settings. Ask by typing or by voice, hear the answer read aloud, and shoot again. The coach knows what lenses you carry and what you're out to photograph today. Two ways to run the coach: • Aperi coach: no setup, a free daily allowance, more with a subscription. • Your own API key: bring a Claude, Gemini or OpenAI key and it is free and unlimited. Your photos go straight to the provider; Aperi's server is not involved. Hands-free: with earbuds in, a double-press coaches your last shot and a single press lets you ask by voice. Also in the app: live histogram, composition grids, highlight clipping alert, a card browser to review photos on the memory card, and saved conversations. Supported camera: Sony A7 V (ILCE-7M5). Other recent Sony bodies may work over USB but are not yet verified. This is an open beta. Some things will be rough; feedback is welcome through the Play beta feedback link. Privacy: your photos and questions are sent to the AI provider you choose, to write the reply. With the Aperi coach they go to OpenAI, whose API terms do not permit using them to train models; Aperi's server keeps a usage record but never your photos or questions.
