WXYC DJ

WXYC DJ is the station tool for WXYC 89.3 FM, the student-run freeform radio station at UNC Chapel Hill. It is for station staff, and signing in requires a dj.wxyc.org account. If you are a listener looking to hear WXYC, this is not the app you want — search for "WXYC" and install the free listener app instead. This one plays nothing. It is a tool for preparing and running a show. WHAT IT DOES • Search the station library. The same catalogue the station runs on, searchable by artist or album, with results as you type. • See what matters before you pull a record. Each result carries the artist, album, call number and format, and flags whether a release is in rotation. • Open a release for the full entry. Artwork, label, release year, genre, format and disc count, how many times WXYC has played it, when it was added to the library, and whether it is available on streaming or library-only. • Keep a bin. Set aside the releases you want for your show and they stay on your account, so the bin you build at home is the bin you see in the station. SIGNING IN Sign in with your dj.wxyc.org account — the same credentials you use on the DJ site. The app leads with a one-time code sent to your registered email address. If you would rather use your password, "Sign in with password instead" is on the first screen. Accounts are created by station management. You cannot sign up in the app, and there is nothing here for anyone without a WXYC staff account. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO There is no playback, no flowsheet, no schedule and no request line — other WXYC apps and dj.wxyc.org own those. The library needs a connection; there is no offline copy yet. PRIVACY The app collects what it needs to sign you in and to keep your bin, and nothing else.
