Built specifically for real-world planting and restoration projects, the app ensures every action taken in the field can be accurately verified, audited, and trusted. 📍 GPS Walking Path Tracking (Location foreground service) As you plant and survey a site, the app continuously records your GPS walking path to map the exact area covered. This location tracking runs as a foreground service with a persistent notification so recording continues without interruption while the screen is off or the app is in the background; essential for capturing an accurate, unbroken route across large planting sites where a survey can take a long time to complete. 🔄 Field Data Sync & Upload (Data sync foreground service) When connectivity is available, the app syncs all collected field data; planting sessions, measurements, and high-resolution photo evidence, to Veritree's servers, and downloads updated assignments. Because these uploads can be large and slow over remote-area connections, syncing runs as a foreground service with a persistent progress notification so the transfer completes reliably even when you leave the app or the screen turns off.
