OrthoSteps helps orthopaedic surgery patients enrolled in approved research studies track their daily step count during recovery. After signing in with a Participant ID issued by your research team, OrthoSteps reads your daily step counts from Google Health Connect and visualizes them with interactive charts: • Daily step totals across the past week, past month, since surgery, or all time • Recovery trends — see how this week compares to your first week post-op • Pre-injury baseline comparison Pseudonymized step data is securely uploaded to a research database. The app never collects your name, email, or any personally identifying information. Required for use: a Participant ID assigned by an enrolling research team and Google Health Connect (built into Android 14+; available as an app on Android 9–13).
