Nexa VotePeer

VotePeer is a voting app for groups, communities and organisations that want elections recorded on the Nexa blockchain, where results can be checked by anyone and no one, including the organiser, can change a vote after it is cast. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Vote in your elections: see the elections you take part in, open one to read the question and options, and cast your vote from your phone. Multiple-choice and anonymous elections are supported. • Vote anonymously: in anonymous elections your ballot carries a ring signature, which proves it comes from one of the participants without showing which one, and a second ballot from the same person is not counted. • Check the result: the app counts the ballots straight from the blockchain and shows your own vote once it is recorded. • Create your identity: a Nexa key is generated and kept on your phone. There is no username or password, and your private key and recovery phrase never leave your device. • See your identity: your Nexa ID as text and as a QR code, with the balance that pays for your votes, and share it with election organisers or open it in a block explorer. • Back up your identity: write down your 12-word recovery phrase, or restore an existing identity from one. • Sign in to the website: open votepeer-nexa.web.app on your computer, press Login and scan the QR code with the app. No password is sent or stored. HOW VOTEPEER ELECTIONS WORK • Organisers create an election at votepeer-nexa.web.app with a question, the options, an end block and the people allowed to vote. • A vote is a Nexa transaction signed with the voter's key. It costs a small amount of NEX, paid from your own address in the app; the app tells you how much and where to send it if your balance is too low. • The tally is computed from the blockchain, so every participant can verify the result independently. GOOD TO KNOW • Votes recorded on the Nexa blockchain are public. In multiple-choice elections anyone can see how each participant voted. • In anonymous elections the ballot itself does not say who cast it, but the NEX that pays for it comes from your own address, so someone studying the blockchain can link that payment to your ballot. The app says so next to the ballot. VotePeer has no ads and no tracking. It is open source and developed by Bitcoin Unlimited for the Nexa community.
