Drepal Zembu

Drepal Zembu is a board game 🎮 a thousand years older than chess, and almost nobody has built a good one. One side is a king and his guard, outnumbered two to one and boxed in at the centre. The other side is the ring closing around them. The king wins by walking out to any of the four corners; the ring wins by sealing all four sides of him. Every piece slides like a rook, and pieces are never taken by landing on them — you take a man by trapping him between two of yours. That asymmetry is what makes it interesting, and it is also what makes it hard to learn 📖 from a rulebook. So the board teaches you. Lift any piece and every square it can reach is marked with what landing there actually does: how many men it takes, whether it opens a clear run to a corner, and whether it leaves that piece to be taken on the reply. You are reading consequences, not permissions. Turn the help down or off entirely once you stop needing it. Twelve hand-built tactics lessons carry the ideas one at a time ⏱️ — the shieldwall, the exit fork, the hammer and anvil, the long squeeze — and each has exactly one solution, with the tempting wrong ❌ move played out in front of you so you see 👀 why ❓ it fails. When a real game ends, Drepal Zembu replays it and marks the single turn where the balance actually flipped, shows the move you missed, and lets you branch a fresh game from that exact position. There is also a free sandbox for building any position you like, a daily puzzle, and three board sizes against three levels of opponent.
