Full description
Lexitera Screen puts study cards on your lock screen, home screen or both. Pick your own language once — German, English, Spanish, French, Italian or Russian — and every built-in card translates into it. Then choose a collection, or import your own Markdown file. Word lists: the first 100 or all 500 basic words of a language. Every card has the word, its IPA transcription, its gender, the translation and an example sentence with its translation. Each language has its own list, chosen for that language rather than translated from a common one. French verbs: 100 essential verbs. Each card has the six present-tense forms with IPA transcriptions and liaison, the verb group, the passé composé and the futur simple, the verb’s government with a translation for each model (penser à qn, arriver à + inf. — manage to do) and one random example from a set of twenty, with the verb in bold. Changing your language keeps you on the same card and only changes the translation. Your language is independent of the interface language. Make the cards fit your screen: • Use a black background or choose a photo. • Position the card on an 8 × 16 grid. • Change cards every time the lock screen wakes, after every unlock, or every 1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes, 1, 3, 6 or 12 hours, or 24 hours. • Preview your wallpaper and switch cards manually. • Import .md or .txt files with headings, emphasis, tables and paragraphs. Your cards and images stay on your device. No ads, account or analytics. Built-in collections work offline. The interface is available in English and Russian. Lexitera Screen is a companion to lexitera.org. Website synchronization is not included in this version. Lexitera Screen is a live wallpaper: you set it once in the Android wallpaper picker, and the system keeps it running. The next card is prepared when the screen turns off or the phone is unlocked, so it is ready when you look again. Nothing runs while the phone sleeps, no background service, no notification. System clocks and notifications may cover the text, so choose a free area on the grid. Turning cards off leaves the current card on screen as an ordinary wallpaper.

What's new

Lexitera Screen 1.9: the government line under the verb table now explains itself. Where a preposition changes the meaning, each model gets its own line with a translation: arriver à + lieu — arrive at, arriver à + inf. — manage to do; tenir à — care about; servir à — be used for; jouer à / jouer de. The infinitive is written + inf. instead of faire qch, and espérer + inf. is marked as taking no preposition.
