Jerk Alert — Driving Reports

Jerk Alert is a community record of driving behavior, indexed by license plate. Improve road safety and provide instant driver feedback when you see tailgating, blocking, or distracted driving. Acting as a quick dashcam alternative, you can post an Alert in about ten seconds. Type the plate, then pick location, category and severity from set lists. There is no free-text box and no photo upload, meaning a report contains nothing but the facts of the incident. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Post an Alert — Log the plate, place, category, and level in seconds without typing a description. • The Watch — Browse a live feed of recent traffic alerts near your location, filtered by distance and severity. • Alerts Near Me — The interactive map centers where you are and shows what other drivers reported nearby. • License Plate Lookup — Check any plate to view its Erk Meter (a 0–5 rating) and the report history behind it. • Post an Award — Somebody drove well? Hand them an award to put positive driver feedback on the record. • Friendly Heads Up — A gentle nudge about expired tags or a broken light. It is not an Alert and it does not move the Erk Meter. • Track This Plate — Get a notification when a new Alert is posted on it. • Endorse or Flag — The only two actions on a report. Flagged reports are reviewed. WHAT A PLATE IS, AND WHAT IT ISN'T A plate in Jerk Alert is a record of reported driving, and nothing more. Jerk Alert does not hold names, addresses, phone numbers or vehicle registration details, and it cannot tell you who a vehicle belongs to. Reports describe driving, not people. HOW WE KEEP IT HONEST Reports are structured, so they can be counted and compared instead of argued about. The Erk Meter is weighted: five 0-erk reports are folded into every plate's average, so one bad day cannot brand a driver. You can post at most three Alerts on any one plate, ever. You can delete your own Alerts at any time, and a deleted Alert stops counting toward the score immediately. Every flagged report is reviewed within 5 business days, with priority given to claims of harassment or safety risks. Sign-in is by phone number, so one person is one voice. Jerk Alert is free.
