Voice Lock: Call Encryption

Voice Lock finds the recordings made by Samsung's built-in call recorder and encrypts them so that only your password can open them. ■ How it works 1. When a call ends, the app detects the new recording in the call-recording folder you linked. If it ever misses the end of a call, it re-checks the folder every 15 minutes. 2. The recording is encrypted on this device with AES-256. The key comes only from the password you choose and your 24-word recovery code. 3. The app decrypts the encrypted file again and compares it with the original (SHA-256). Only after this check passes is the original deleted. If the check fails, the original stays. This check cannot be turned off in settings. 4. You can choose per folder whether originals are deleted or kept. ■ Playback always asks for your password Every time you play an encrypted recording, the app asks for your password. Even if you opened the app with biometrics, playback still needs the password. Decrypted audio is never saved to device storage as a file during playback. ■ The server cannot open your recordings If you turn on cloud sync, only encrypted files are uploaded. Your password, encryption keys, phone numbers and audio are never sent to the server, so even the server operator cannot open your recordings. On another device, sign in with the same Google account and password to download and play the encrypted files. ■ Make sure nothing is missed The Diagnostics screen shows folder access, phone-state permission, notifications, battery optimization, the time of the last detection and any files that could not be processed. If something is wrong, the Home screen tells you first. ■ Free and subscriptions For free, you can encrypt and play up to 50 recordings on this device. Once you reach 50, new recordings are not encrypted and stay in the folder as they are; the app tells you through a notification and on the Home screen. Subscriptions are monthly and renew automatically. Both plans have no limit on the number of recordings, and the security (encryption, password on playback, delete only after verification) is identical. - Standard: 10 GB cloud · 2 linked devices · export originals (one at a time) · cloud copies kept 60 days after cancelling - Premium: 100 GB cloud · 5 linked devices · export several at once (up to 100) · cloud copies kept 180 days after cancelling With cloud sync you can upload encrypted recordings and listen on other devices. Exporting saves the recordings you pick to a location you pick; exported files are not encrypted. New subscribers may get an introductory discount, and upgrading from Standard to Premium charges only the difference for the remaining period. Prices and discounts are shown on the plans screen in the app and on the Google Play payment screen. You can cancel any time in Google Play subscriptions. When a subscription ends, cloud uploads stop and cloud copies are deleted after the retention period. Recordings on this device remain. ■ Good to know - Automatic detection is based on files created by Samsung's built-in call recorder. Files from other recording apps can be encrypted one at a time with "Encrypt a file" in settings. - After a call ends, the original file stays unencrypted on the device for a few minutes until encryption and verification finish. - If you lose both your password and your 24-word recovery code, there is no way to recover your recordings. Write the recovery code down separately when you first set up. - With battery optimization on, background detection may be delayed. Follow the guidance on the Diagnostics screen to turn it off. - Please record calls in line with applicable laws and the rights of the other party.
