FOLK is the attendance-marking app for HKM Jaipur's weekend classes. It replaces paper attendance sheets with a fast, badge-scan-first way to mark every student present. Built for a volunteer standing at the door with one hand on a stack of badges, not for an office desk: big touch targets, one person at a time, and a clear answer after every single tap. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Mark attendance in seconds — Scan a student's badge to mark them present for the day's class, or look them up by mobile number, name or student ID if the badge isn't handy. • Know that it actually saved — Nothing is optimistic. A student shows as marked only once the server confirms the record exists, and the app says plainly when someone is in the wrong course, not enrolled, or already marked. • Log guests and foundation-course visitors — Capture a walk-in or a foundation-course visitor without needing an existing student record. • Back-fill a past session — Complete or correct the register for a class that has already been held, not just today's. • See the connection before you tap — A live network indicator shows when the hall has no signal, and a save that doesn't reach the server says so instead of failing silently. A double-tapped save can never create two records. • Run the class — Coordinators can manage the class schedule, enrol and promote students, hand over books, gifts and certificates, record prasadam and volunteers, and review the day sheet. BUILT FOR VOLUNTEER OPERATIONS FOLK is internal software intended for authorised volunteers, preachers and coordinators of HKM Jaipur's weekend classes. Sign in with an OTP sent to your registered phone number, and the app connects to HKM Jaipur's secure server to send and retrieve attendance records. SECURITY & PRIVACY YOU CAN TRUST • Encrypted connection — All information is transmitted over a secure HTTPS connection. • Access control — Data is stored on HKM Jaipur's server and access is limited to authorised volunteers and coordinators. • No hidden copy on the device — Attendance and capture records are written straight to the server. The app keeps only your sign-in credential, your last-used session and preacher, and a cached preacher list, and clears them all when you sign out. • Minimal permissions — FOLK only requests the permissions it needs: Internet to reach the server, Camera to scan a student's badge, Photos so a coordinator can set a student's profile picture, and SMS read access solely to autofill the OTP code during sign-in.
