Findory Comprehension Understanding what we read involves much more than recognising the words on the page. Children need to locate information, make connections, work out unfamiliar vocabulary, notice what an author is implying and bring ideas together to understand a text as a whole. Findory Comprehension gives children short, carefully structured opportunities to practise these skills with 48 engaging non-fiction passages across Years 3–6, designed to fit comfortably into family life. Learning how to read closely Each Comprehension Pack combines one short passage with twelve carefully sequenced questions covering understanding, skimming, scanning, retrieval, checking facts, vocabulary in context, connecting ideas, inference, main idea and deeper meaning. The sequence stays familiar while the texts and thinking change, helping children become more confident about how to approach a passage. Some questions ask them to choose an answer, while others send them back to a particular paragraph or ask them to find the word carrying an important meaning. Most importantly, the passage stays available throughout. Returning to a text is part of good reading, so children are encouraged to look again, locate evidence and think carefully rather than rely on memory or guesswork. Explanations after each answer help them understand the reasoning. Reading that builds knowledge too Passages explore science, history, geography, computing, music, sport and the wider world, giving children interesting things to learn while they practise reading closely. Alongside the main packs, Daily Quest provides short targeted practice, while Comprehension Safari mixes skills together. Comprehension Duel creates a pass-and-play activity with a grown-up, and Quiz Master lets you read aloud together while your child thinks about and answers the questions. Children build a gem for each comprehension skill by answering that type of question correctly across five different days, encouraging useful revisiting over time. A clear picture for parents Parent Corner shows completed packs, overall accuracy, progress across individual reading skills and areas that may benefit from more practice. Parents can choose the working year level and, when appropriate, open up material from the year above. Findory requires no account or sign-up and contains no advertising, analytics or tracking.
