EmberShare is a simple, private way to organise and share media files, such as audio, video, and documents, directly between devices, with no internet connection required. Every file you import can be tagged by type, language, country, or your own custom tags, so large collections stay easy to browse and find. Import files by browsing your device, downloading from a URL, reading from an SD card, or receiving them from another EmberShare user over Wi-Fi Direct or a local web link. Share files however suits you: • Over Wi-Fi, from a small server running on your own phone. The receiving device just opens a link or scans a QR code, no app install needed. • Via Bluetooth, to any nearby device. • Directly to another EmberShare device via Wi-Fi Direct. • Through any other app on your phone (email, messaging, and more) using the normal Android share sheet. None of this depends on the internet or the cloud. Transfers happen directly between devices, and your files and tags never leave your phone unless you choose to share them. Privacy by design: • No account or sign-in required. • No advertising. • No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs of any kind. • The only information EmberShare ever sends anywhere is what you choose to type into the optional Contact Us form, if you report a bug or request a feature. EmberShare is built and maintained by The Discover Network, a registered charity, and is provided free of charge.
