MonkViewer

MonkViewer for Android connects your phone or tablet to your own Mac or Windows computer. You see its screen, hear its sound, and control it with touch, a keyboard or a mouse. This app is the viewing and control side. It needs MonkViewer running as a host on the computer you want to reach: a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later, or a PC with Windows 11 or Windows Server 2022 (x64; the Windows host is an unsigned preview). Host downloads and setup instructions are at https://monkviewer.com PREVIEW This is an early preview of the Android app. Testing on physical Android devices is still in progress, so expect rough edges. WHAT YOU CAN DO • See your computer's screen, decoded by your device's hardware H.264 or HEVC decoder • Hear your computer's sound • Use touch: one finger moves the pointer and drags, two fingers scroll • Use the toolbar for right click, Ctrl+Alt+Del and common keys • Type with the on-screen keyboard, or connect a USB or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse • Find computers on your local network, or enter an address or a key code • Connect on your LAN, over a VPN or a forwarded address, or through a relay when a direct connection is not possible PAIRING Pair once with the PIN shown on the computer, or with the password its owner set. Later connections use the saved pairing keys, so you leave the pairing field empty. A paired device can control the computer: pair only devices you trust, and long-press a saved computer to remove it. PRIVACY AND SECURITY • No account, no ads, no analytics. • Screen, sound and input are encrypted end to end between this app and your computer. • A relay forwards that encrypted traffic and cannot read it. It can see network details: IP addresses, key identifiers, packet sizes and timing. New installations include the DigitalMonks public relay. Under "Relay links" you can replace it with your own relay or remove it. • Finding computers on your local network is not encrypted and is visible to others on that network. • The pairing identity, saved computers and relay links stay in the app's private storage and are excluded from Android backup. • MonkViewer's cryptographic design and implementation are not independently audited. Consider that before relying on it for sensitive access.
