Pitsest

Design veneer marquetry pictures, plan 🗺️ the cuts and assemble them step by step. Pitsest is a workshop planner 🗺️ for veneer marquetry. You design a picture from pieces of wood veneer, and the app 📱 turns it into a cut list 📋 and an assembly guide. Start 🚀 a picture with a name, a width and a lattice size. Choose a ground veneer and, if you like, a starting pattern 🔢: Compass Rose, Chevron Parquet, Fan Corner or Leaf. Two example pictures are ready when you open the app 📱. On the bench you lay veneer across a triangle lattice with your finger. Pick any veneer from the strip, turn the grain angle, and undo or redo your steps. You can also add a reference photo 📸 to work from. The cut plan 🗺️ lists every piece with a number 🔢 and its size in millimetres or centimetres. Pieces that need care, such as sharp points, tiny parts and edge joints, are flagged. Tap 👆 a piece to see 👀 its details and mark it as cut. The leaf view shows how the pieces fit on each leaf of veneer, so you can see how much of each wood you need. Assembly walks you through the picture one piece at a time ⏱️. Each step shows where the piece goes, which veneer it uses and its size. Mark it as placed and move on. You can restart at any point. The veneer rack holds a range of woods, each with its figure: Holly, Sycamore, Maple, Birch Burl, Satinwood, Oak, Cherry, Mahogany, Zebrano and more. Mark favourites, or add your own veneers with a name, a figure and a leaf size.
