ChessReview: Game Analysis

Understand your finished games with chess game analysis you can explore. ChessReview combines on-device Stockfish analysis, move explanations and playable variations to help you see what changed, investigate alternatives and find useful study moments. UNDERSTAND WHY A MOVE MATTERS • Step through a game with Previous and Next. • Read explanations of supported threats, plans, tactical ideas and defensive resources. • Play the continuation on the board to check the idea for yourself. • See when the evidence is incomplete instead of treating every engine suggestion as a certainty. EXPLORE YOUR OWN ALTERNATIVES • Move a piece to enter What if mode and explore a different move or reply. • Inspect ranked main lines and tap a best-move arrow for its evaluation. • Choose zero to five main lines and arrows independently in Settings. • Return to the original game with Back. Evaluations use White’s perspective throughout. SEE THE STORY OF THE GAME Open Summary for the game story, evaluation graph, both players’ accuracy and key moments. Follow a turning point back to the board. Overview adds supported thematic feedback with assessed-move counts, so you can judge how much evidence sits behind a result. A small sample describes that game; it is not a diagnosis of your overall ability. BRING A GAME OR TRY THE SAMPLE Import standard-chess PGN, a FEN position, a shared file or a supported public game link. Browse public Lichess and Chess.com games by username without a ChessReview account. The getting-started tour helps you find the main controls and can be skipped or replayed from Settings. Public imports require internet. Chess.com links may need the player’s username and completion month; unsupported links can be imported as PGN instead. FEN provides a position review, not the missing history of an entire game. Unsupported chess variants are not analysed as standard chess. KEEP STUDYING OFFLINE The Stockfish engine and its evaluation networks are bundled with the app. Once a game is imported or supplied locally, chess game analysis runs on your Android device without a cloud analysis service or an extra engine download. Imported games and saved reviews stay in your local Library. Organise games with Profiles, reopen reviews and export annotated PGN or a JSON report. Draft import text is saved locally. When leaving during analysis, you can pause and save the partial review; incomplete work remains labelled incomplete. Continue in the current session or restart after reopening when needed. Depth 14 is the default. Results appear progressively as decisions are checked. Analysis time varies with the game, search depth and phone; deeper searches can take longer. HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT Settings includes the replayable tour, glossary, feedback email, app sharing and a link to rate ChessReview on Google Play. Feedback opens an editable email with basic device and version details; no games or logs are attached automatically. Local deletion and analysis-cache controls are available. No advertising, analytics SDK or ChessReview account is included. Google Play handles store transactions separately. See the privacy page for public-import providers and support-message handling.
