Full description
The Art and Science behind the Power of Love. Learn to love yourself and others in a mentally healthy way! This FREE, 45-minute Introductory App gets you ready for the more educational and scientific App, the Love Decoded Mental Health App, all science-based and simple to use. It gets you results, not just makes promises. 4 mini-interactions, for a total of only 5 minutes a day. 35-years of clinical work – plus, an 18-month-long clinical trial, approved by an Independent Review Board of doctors, along with the research of: Joan Luby and hippocampus development; Barbara Fredrickson and vagal nerve system development; Eva Selhub, MD and immune system development, in addition to Harville Hendrix, Helen LaKelly-Hunt, Tiffany Field, Jean Watson. They all point in the same direction, that Love is not a romantic notion, not an adrenaline-dopamine rush sexual attraction, that we confuse it with, but the oxytocin, vasopressin, endorphin cocktail that mother’s love generates. Unconditionally, does not mean put up with people’s bad behavior. On the contrary, when we do that, we’re not being loving to them or ourselves. Rather, it means that we tell another, that although they might not have meant to hurt our feeling, they did!, and it is not acceptable. That “the two of us will take a few days, or a few weeks to think about what happened and then discuss whether this relationship is important enough for you to stop doing what you did.” But before we get to the communication, we start with exploring our relationship with ourselves. What is it we like about ourselves? What do other people like about us? People struggle when asked to come up with even 5 or 10 qualities they like about themselves. The reason? No one ever asked us what we like about ourselves. It is considered self-centered, egotistical. An exercise that we are supposed to avoid. Yet when we are not clear about our relationship with ourselves it is very easy to hurt our feelings – because we haven’t created a strong, emotional foundation for ourselves. Which makes us more defensive, and leads us into arguments. Another very important step for our personal development is becoming familiar with our own SELF-TALK. There is a constant ‘inner monologue’ going on that we’re not aware of – never mind listen to closely. It is as important as listening to others – so we know when they or we are being negative or positive with ourselves. If people behave negatively, we need to stop it. But if we behave negatively, talk to ourselves negatively, who is going to stop us?! Only we can, but only if we are paying attention and realize we’re being negative. Learning to envision our goals, whether it is for something as the outcome of an argument, or big as buying a house, needs to be thoughtful. We were never taught that. To frame a message so it lands on receptive ears; to listen so that the upset person feels heard; are skills that we can learn. It takes time – which is why anyone who promises you quick results is joking with you. Our neuropathways take time to realign and change our habits of reacting. We have to be patient with ourselves. People generally confuse with hearing something and knowing something with being able to do something. We’re very impatient with ourselves. Read a great book on Tennis and expect to play great tennis without practicing. Everything in life, especially something as important as our relationship with ourselves and other, is worth putting the time in. Too bad our parents and the school systems don’t pay attention to this aspect of human development. Even psychotherapist could do a better job teaching us these concepts and tools. Enjoy the Introductory App – and then commit yourself to yourself – use the 21 weeks to create a fantastic marriage-raise great kids- be nice with your parents-friends-neighbors-colleagues-physical health in other words live a great LIFE!
