Full description
teamWeather turns raw National Weather Service data into a live, explorable picture of the sky above you instead of a static forecast icon. Real-time NEXRAD Level II and Level III radar streams onto an interactive map with smooth overlays for reflectivity, velocity, storm-relative motion, VIL, hail index, and hydrometeor classification, plus a clear color legend so you always know how strong a storm actually is. The app automatically finds the radar site closest to you for a focused local view, and you can pan, zoom, and switch sites to track weather anywhere in the country. Beyond radar, teamWeather pulls current conditions, hourly and multi-day forecasts, gridded temperature and precipitation data, and official watches, warnings, and advisories directly from the National Weather Service, so severe weather alerts reach you the moment they are issued. Aviation-grade METAR observations add hyper-local surface conditions from airports and weather stations near you, and an overlay of buoy and camera data rounds out the picture for boaters, pilots, and storm watchers alike. What sets teamWeather apart is its built-in commentary engine: an on-device AI model reads the current conditions and forecast and delivers a short, sarcastic, personality-driven summary of what your day actually looks like, with an optional text-to-speech voice so you can hear it read aloud. Everything runs locally on your device, so commentary keeps working even without a network connection once the model is installed, and none of your location or weather data has to leave your phone for this feature to work. Save Home, Work, and any number of other locations to jump between forecasts instantly, and use the map to explore conditions anywhere else in the country. teamWeather is built for storm spotters, pilots, boaters, commuters, and anyone who wants to see the weather instead of just reading about it, all with a clean interface, fast refreshes that respect your data plan, and absolutely no advertisements. teamWeather is a data client for public sources and credits them as follows: Radar imagery, forecasts, current conditions, gridded forecast data, and official alerts: National Weather Service / NOAA, https://www.weather.gov and https://api.weather.gov Raw NEXRAD Level III radar products: NOAA's public FTP mirror, https://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov Aviation METAR surface observations: Aviation Weather Center, https://aviationweather.gov Marine buoy and coastal observation data: National Data Buoy Center, https://www.ndbc.noaa.gov Base map tiles: OpenStreetMap contributors, https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright teamWeather is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NOAA, the National Weather Service, or OpenStreetMap.
