Full description
NT Greek is for learning the vocabulary and parsing you need to read the Greek New Testament. It works offline, keeps everything on your phone, and does not require an account. The Greek New Testament is the basis for the app: 17,026 word forms, each with its real parse and frequency. ## TWO WAYS TO STUDY **Parsing.** The app shows you a form and asks you to identify it one category at a time — tense, voice, mood, person, case, number, and gender. Only answers that are still possible are shown. If a form is genuinely ambiguous, the app does not give away the answer too early. **Flashcards.** Tap a card to see the lemma, gloss, and the form as it would appear in a lexicon. Swipe left and right to move through the cards. Both modes use the same word list and review schedule, so the words you learn as flashcards are already part of your study when you encounter them in parsing. ## SPACED REPETITION Every completed word is graded according to how many wrong answers it took to get there. Words move through intervals of 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, and 128 days. A clean answer moves a word to the next interval. A wrong answer brings it back the next day. Decks start with your most overdue words, followed by words you have not studied yet. Each book and chapter shows how far its words have progressed, and each card shows its current place in the schedule. ## STUDY WHAT YOU ARE READING * All 27 books of the New Testament, selected book by book * Vocabulary lists from four standard first-year grammars, organised by chapter — 2,333 cards in total * Combine more than one source in a single deck, such as a Gospel and this week's textbook chapter * Limit New Testament vocabulary by frequency, from words occurring 100+ times down to words occurring once * Filter by word class — article, pronoun, noun, adjective, or verb * Hide forms you have not learned yet, so an aorist optative does not turn up in week three * Hide words you already know * A library showing everything new, everything you are learning, and everything you have hidden * Choose a deck size from seven words upwards * A Progress screen showing accuracy by word class and category, plus how many words are due each day * Targeted decks for difficult words, words you missed, or words due today ## FREE, AND WHAT THE PURCHASE BUYS The whole app is free. Every book, every chapter, all four textbook vocabularies, the library, and the scheduler are included. There are no ads and no subscription. Free study is limited to ten minutes a day. It also limits the two longest deck sizes, the progress forecast to one week ahead, and access to targeted decks. One one-time purchase removes the time and deck-size limits, extends the forecast to a month ahead, unlocks targeted decks, and lets you back up your progress to a file and restore it on a new device. Nothing that is already free is removed or locked behind the purchase. ## PRIVACY Everything is stored in a database on your phone. There is no account, sign-in, or analytics, and studying works entirely offline. The only network use is the purchase itself and Google Play occasionally checking that the purchase is still valid. ## ABOUT THE TEXTBOOK DECKS The four grammar sources are used as vocabulary indexes: lists of the words introduced in each chapter. NT Greek uses those lists to select the corresponding words from its own New Testament data. The app does not include or reproduce text, glosses, exercises, or other content from those books. NT Greek is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to their authors or publishers. You will still need the book itself. NT Greek simply gives you a way to practise the vocabulary it introduces.
