County Savvy shows you the name of a county, and you find it on the map. It's easy to get started, but behind the quiz is a learning method that makes sure you actually remember what you've learned. HOW IT WORKS • Read the county name and tap the right county on the map. • See right away whether you were correct. • Practice a little every day – the app keeps track of what you should review, and when. • Names shared by several counties, like Washington County, are shown with the state, so you always know which one you're looking for. SPACED REPETITION The app uses spaced repetition to help you remember. Spaced repetition is a well-documented learning method. Instead of practicing everything equally often, you see each county again around the time you're about to forget it. Get one wrong, and it comes back soon. Get it right, and the time until the next review grows longer and longer – eventually weeks and months. That way, your time is spent on the counties you struggle with, not the ones you already know. The result is knowledge that sticks, even long after you've put the app down. The app uses FSRS, a modern, open-source spaced repetition algorithm also used in several well-known flashcard apps. Washington, D.C. and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico are not included, yet.
