Full description
Need a daily dose of good news? This app is built to cheer you up with positive, heartwarming stories from all around the world—automatically translated into English so you can read them in seconds. In a time when most news feeds feel heavy, this one is different. It collects only uplifting, solutions‑focused stories from independent, non–state‑funded outlets across many countries and presents them in a simple, calming feed. The result: a quick, reliable way to remember that there is still good in this world. Stay informed without the doomscroll. This app brings you heartwarming, solutions‑focused headlines from independent, non–state‑funded news outlets around the world—automatically translated into clear, natural English. Good news that actually happened • Every story is picked because it reports something good that really happened: a rescue, a medical breakthrough, a conservation win, a community pulling together. • Opinion columns, sponsored and paid-for articles, corporate PR and hopeful spin on bad news are left out. • Stories are ranked by how much they matter to people, so the biggest good news rises to the top. The most important ones are marked as Top Stories. • No single outlet can take over your feed. No paid placement, and nothing hidden • Nobody can pay to be featured: we don't take money from outlets or anyone else for coverage, placement or ranking. • How stories are chosen and ranked is explained in plain English in the Stats & FAQ on our website, finallysomegood.news. From local newsrooms around the world, in English • Stories come from outlets writing in dozens of languages, from Nepal to Paraguay to Kenya. • Headlines and summaries are in English, and each one says which language it was translated from. Tap a story to read the original article, automatically translated. • When several outlets report the same story, they're grouped under one card ("Also covered by…"). You can compare their coverage without scrolling past repeats. Never stuck behind a paywall • Stories that may be behind a paywall are marked with a lock. • When another outlet covered the same story for free, you'll see "Free to read at…" and can read that version instead. • Open "Also covered by…" to see every outlet that reported the story. The lock shows which versions may be paywalled, so the free ones stand out. Know who's behind every story • A small coloured dot shows what kind of outlet published each story: independent, mainstream, news wire, government publisher, state-affiliated or largely state-funded. Tap it to see what that means. Updated throughout the day • New stories arrive regularly through the day. Pull down to refresh. Good news from your part of the world • Filter by your own country, or by region: Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America or Oceania. • Filter by topic: science, medicine, environment, animals & wildlife, human rights & justice, education, technology, community, politics, sport and more. • Sort by Recommended, Most Recent or Mixed. Easy to use • Day and Night themes, or follow your phone's setting. • Share any story in one tap. Friends get a page with the summary and a link to the full article. • A Stats screen shows how many sources and stories come from each country. Premium (optional) The app is free to use, with ads. An optional Premium subscription removes all ads and adds: • more time periods: Last 6 Hours, Last 7 Days and Last 30 Days • Calendar mode: Today, This Week, This Month and This Year • Newspaper mode (one story per screen) and a 10 Per Page mode • a saved home view that opens with your favourite filters

What's new

Outlet markers on every story: A coloured dot next to the outlets name shows what kind of outlet filed the story: independent, mainstream, news wire, government publisher, state-affiliated or largely state-funded. A lock shows when the story may be paywalled. Tapping the dot or lock shows a link to the explanation. "Free to read at " appears under a paywalled story when another outlet covering the same story is free. Shared links now preview the story itself Back button works properly.
