Pata Prersin

🐎 Shoeing starts with reading the foot in front of you. Pata Prersin is a farrier's measuring bench that works the balance out from a photograph of the hoof. 📏 MEASURE ON THE PHOTOGRAPH Shoot the foot from the side, tap across a length you already know to set the scale in millimetres, then drop six landmarks down the wall, at the coronet, the heel and the ground. Wall angle, heel angle, axis deviation, toe length, heel height and the heel-to-toe ratio re-read every time you move a landmark. 🪟 AGAINST A WINDOW YOU CHOOSE Four reference windows for different animals and different work. Every figure reads in or out of its own range, so a foot outside the window shows itself before the rasp comes out. 🔨 THE SHELF Nine shoes and eight tools, each with its class, web, section and nail count, so the plan names a real shoe instead of a guess. Fit one to a foot and it follows that foot through the six trim stages, from the first assessment to the finish. 📖 THE YARD BOOK Book the trim and it is filed: four animals, four feet each, dates and figures kept per limb. The work card opens on the foot you are standing at, with the days since its last trim counted out. 📈 THE DRIFT Three series on the balance plot against the shaded window band, with every reading that fell outside it marked, so you can see where a foot has been going across the last six trims. ⚠️ IT MEASURES, IT DOES NOT DIAGNOSE Pata Prersin reads geometry off your own taps. The figures and the windows inform your work; they do not stand in for what you judge with the foot in your hands. 📱 ON THE DEVICE Millimetres or inches throughout, a dark palette meant for a lit workshop, figures in a mono face so the columns line up. Everything stays on the phone, and a photograph can be taken off a foot whenever you want, along with the measurements derived from it.
