Hoop Circuit

Hoop Circuit is a basketball shooting game on a floodlit outdoor court at dusk. Every shot is a physics solve — the ball, the glass, the ring and the net are all simulated, and a miss is a miss because of where the ball actually went. ONE DRAG CARRIES THE WHOLE SHOT Drag length is release speed. Drag steepness is release angle, from a flat 38 degrees to a high 72. And how far to the side you let go is your lateral aim. While you hold the drag an arc meter sweeps across a narrow band — release inside it and the shot is clean, release outside and your error is multiplied and the range goes with it. The band narrows when you shoot deep, when the clock drops under five seconds, and when someone is in your face. THE RIM IS AN ACTUAL RING The hoop is solved as a torus, not a hit zone. The ball is tested against the inner and outer edge of the ring, the contact normal is worked out from the nearest point on the ring, and the bounce is a real reflection with friction that your backspin scrubs off. Rim-in and rim-out are not decided in advance — they fall out of where the ball hit and how fast it was going. The backboard is a real plane with its own restitution, so the bank shot is genuinely available and genuinely different. A make is registered in exactly one place: the ball crossing the ring plane on the way down, inside the ring. You will see SWISH, OFF THE GLASS, IN AND DOWN, RIM OUT, BRICK and AIRBALL, and each of them is the honest description of what the ball just did. THREE WAYS TO PLAY - Circuit: five spots around the arc, two makes at each, one 80-second clock for all of them. From the fourth spot the backboard starts sliding on a rail — and its motion is part of the collision solve, so a moving rim really does throw the ball off. - Pressure: one spot, one defender closing in and raising a hand as you shoot. His contest cuts your release speed, pushes the ball sideways and halves your sweet band. The clock resets on every make. Three straight misses and you are out. - Downtown: deep shots from 7.65 metres with a live crosswind. The HUD shows its direction and its exact strength, and that is the same number the simulation is pushing the ball with. BUILD THE SHOOTER Court Tokens earned on the court buy four upgrade lines over five levels each: Legs opens up the deep high-arc shots, Release widens the timing band, Touch softens the ball off the rim, and Poise cuts what a defender's contest costs you. Every one of them changes a value the physics reads. A COURT THAT REACTS The camera eases between spots and tilts to follow the ball up its arc. The ball's shadow shrinks on the asphalt as it rises. The chain net swings and damps after a make. The ring flashes with the force of the contact and the whole hoop shudders on a hard rim hit. Hit three in a row and the sodium lamp above the court flickers.
