Storm Chaser puts you behind the wheel of an armoured intercept rig under a live supercell. The tornado is not a background animation - it is a simulated vortex with its own position, heading, lifetime and wind field, and it will drag your rig sideways long before it ever touches you. REAL STORM SIMULATION Every vortex has a core radius, a danger radius, an intensity that rises, plateaus and dissipates, and a wind field that falls off with distance. That field is applied to your rig every frame: tangential swirl plus radial inflow. Get close and you will feel the rig start to slide across the ground instead of tracking your thrust. Debris is simulated separately - fence planks, tyres, hay bales, oil drums and snapped power poles are lifted by the same wind field and thrown on ballistic arcs. Being hit hurts. DRIVE A RIG WITH MASS Drag anywhere on the field to set thrust. The rig accelerates, carries momentum and slides. Asphalt section roads give real grip, ploughed fields give much less. Hail inside the danger ring chews through hull integrity. Touching the red core ring ends the run instantly. PROBES DECIDE YOUR SCORE Your score is not a random roll. Research probes only return telemetry when the vortex core actually rolls over them, and the amount depends on how close the core passes and how intense the vortex is at that moment. That means reading the dashed forecast corridor on the ground, committing to a spot ahead of the funnel, dropping the pod and getting clear. THREE MODES, THREE SEPARATE RECORDS - Intercept: one vortex, a limited rack of probes. Place them all before it dissipates. - Survival: the vortex actively turns onto you and its intensity climbs in waves. Stay alive. - Data Run: ninety seconds, endless probes on a reload timer, maximum harvest. Riding the narrow band just outside the danger ring builds an edge-proximity multiplier on everything you collect. UPGRADE THE RIG Grant Funds earned from telemetry buy eight modules across two branches, five levels each, and every single number is read straight by the simulation - not cosmetic. Reinforced Hull raises integrity, Storm Tyres raise grip, Turbo Block raises top speed and acceleration, Ballast Kit cuts how hard the wind field drags you. On the instrument side, Probe Rack adds pods, Doppler Dish extends the path forecast, Hail Shield cuts hail damage and Telemetry Uplink raises the data rate of every probe. CHASE HISTORY AND FIELD RANKS The Storm Log keeps every chase: EF class and peak wind, funnel lifetime, data harvested, probes returned and how the run ended - dissipated, rig destroyed or core contact. Field Ranks tracks five tiers from Spotter to Vortex Authority and six achievements with real, measurable conditions such as thirty seconds spent inside the danger ring or a logged EF5 encounter.
