Store listing

Full description
Shrink is a free video compressor that makes big videos small — fast, and entirely on your own phone. Video is the reason your storage is full. Shrink gives that space back: choose the clips you want smaller, tap Compress, and walk away. Most camera videos come out 50–80% smaller, with little visible difference on a phone screen. FAST, BECAUSE IT USES YOUR PHONE'S OWN ENCODER Shrink compresses with the hardware video encoder built into your device — the same silicon your camera records with. That makes it quick and easy on the battery. There is no upload, no waiting in a queue on someone else's server, and no dependence on your connection. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Shrink does not request the internet permission at all. This isn't a promise not to upload your videos — the app is technically incapable of sending them anywhere. No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no tracking. It is completely free, with nothing to unlock. FIND WHAT IS ACTUALLY TAKING UP SPACE Tap "Find large videos" and Shrink lists the biggest videos in your camera folder, largest first. You can see the space hogs at a glance instead of scrolling your gallery and guessing. ONE TAP, OR AS MUCH CONTROL AS YOU WANT • Recommended — one tap, sensible quality that shrinks big files dramatically while keeping them sharp. You never need to know what "bitrate" means. • Goal-based presets — pick an outcome instead of a setting: For sharing, Smallest file, or Best quality. Each one shows the size it will produce before you commit. • Custom — full control when you want it: resolution, frame-rate cap, codec (H.264 or HEVC), a quality slider, and the option to drop the audio track. NO SURPRISES Every video shows its estimated new size before you start, so you know exactly what you are getting. Videos that are already efficiently compressed are flagged as "already small", so you do not waste time on files that have nothing left to give. BUILT FOR BATCHES Select as many videos as you like and let the queue run in the background with a progress notification. One problem file will not stop the rest, and you can cancel at any point. YOUR ORIGINALS ARE SAFE Compressed copies are saved to Movies/Shrink and keep their original file name. Your originals stay exactly where they are unless you deliberately choose to replace them — and even then, deletion goes through Android's own confirmation dialog, so nothing disappears without your say-so. MODERN AND EFFICIENT Uses HEVC (H.265) on devices with a hardware encoder for noticeably smaller files, and falls back to H.264 elsewhere for maximum compatibility. Audio is copied across untouched, so nothing drifts out of sync. Works on Android 8.0 and up. WHAT SHRINK IS GOOD FOR • Freeing up storage without deleting memories • Sending long clips over WhatsApp, Telegram, email or Drive • Taming 4K and 60fps footage that is far larger than it needs to be • Clearing space before a trip, an update, or a backup Shrink does one thing and does it well: make your videos take up less space — quickly, privately, and for free.
