Full description
Parental control that blocks apps on mobile data and leaves them working on wifi. Your kid can use TikTok on home wifi and never on your data plan. Safeleaf controls which apps on your child's phone can reach the network — and it controls cellular and wifi separately. Block a game on mobile data while leaving it working at home. And unlike a firewall app, your child cannot switch it off. No account, and nothing we can read. Parental control apps ask you to install an agent that ships your child's activity to a company. Safeleaf does not. The rules, the usage figures and the audit log stay on your two phones. Anything Safeleaf ever passes between two parents is sealed so that we cannot open it — and nothing we run can unlock your child's phone. Check the Data Safety section on this page: it is empty, and that is not an oversight. You set the rules once. They just apply. Change the policy on your phone and it reaches theirs over your home network. Nothing to approve, nothing to confirm, no code to read out. When your child wants an exception they can ask from their phone, and you approve, adjust or decline it from yours. Bedtime and school hours, without you doing anything. Set a window once and the rules change themselves: nothing but calls and messages after 21:00, the allowlist only during school. It is not a screen-time timer — it decides what can reach the internet, and when — so a book or an offline game still works at midnight and a group chat does not. And when you are nowhere near them, it still works. Show a QR code for them to scan, or read a ten-digit code down the phone. Neither needs a signal on either handset — so a dead zone, a flat data plan or a school with no wifi changes nothing. Both parents, equal powers. Safeleaf trusts a roster of parents rather than one account holder. Either parent can change the policy or grant an unlock, and the child's phone keeps a record of which of them did what. Built for families across two households. Calls and messages always work. The allowlist can never be revoked — not by a policy, not by a mistake, not by a hostile grant. Your child can always reach you. Free. The whole policy, all three ways to unlock, the audit log and the recovery key are free. This version has no subscription and nothing to buy — no account, no card, no in-app purchase. Two things to know before you set up the child's phone: Setting up the child's phone requires a factory reset. Android only allows this level of control to be installed on a fresh device, at the setup wizard. That one-off cost is exactly what buys controls a teenager cannot uninstall, force-stop, or work around. If you are not willing to reset the phone, Safeleaf is not for you — and you can find that out before you reset anything. Your child will know it is there. Android shows a "managed by your organisation" notice in Settings and Safeleaf cannot hide it. This is a tool for an arrangement you have made with your child, not a way to watch them secretly. Uses VpnService. Safeleaf uses Android's VPN service as its blocking mechanism. The tunnel terminates nowhere: packets entering it are discarded. No traffic is forwarded, inspected, logged, monitored, or sent to any server, and none is redirected for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.

What's new

Setting up a child's phone now starts by removing every account from it, including Family Link, the usual reason setup stalls. If the QR doesn't work, "It didn't work on their phone" lists every known cause. You now get a notification when your child asks for access, when something is tampered with, or when their phone goes quiet for a day. Replacing a lost parent phone now works.
