Misija i osnovni ciljevi Pokret Preokret teži transformaciji Crne Gore u zajednicu zasnovanu na socijalnoj pravdi, održivom razvoju i dostojanstvu svakog pojedinca. Osnovna ideja je suštinska promjena društva kako bi ono ostvarilo svoj puni humani potencijal, uz strogo poštovanje načela jednakopravnosti u svim oblastima života. Reforma političkog sistema Da bi se ovi ciljevi ostvarili, Preokret insistira na potpunom redefinisanju načina na koji politika funkcioniše. Politički sistem mora biti utemeljen na mjerljivosti i odgovornosti, gdje su političari dužni nuditi precizna, kvantitativno i vremenski definisana rješenja. Na taj način građani mogu objektivno vrednovati njihov rad na kraju svakog mandata. Pored toga, garantovanje autonomije svakom izvršiocu posla na svim nivoima predstavlja preduslov za punu efikasnost, dok transparentnost u prikupljanju i trošenju budžetskih sredstava služi kao ključni alat za eliminaciju korupcije i društvenih devijacija. Politika kao alat građana i direktna demokratija Preokret vidi politiku isključivo kao sredstvo za postizanje socijalne kohezije i opšteg prosperiteta. Ključni elementi ovog pristupa su vraćanje moći građaninu kroz jačanje koncepta direktne demokratije i češću upotrebu lokalnih i državnih referenduma. Novi model odlučivanja podrazumijeva proces koji počinje od stava lokalne zajednice, nastavlja se kroz stručne prijedloge, a završava političkom implementacijom. Takođe, insistira se na profesionalizaciji uprave gdje napredovanje u javnom sektoru zavisi isključivo od postignutih rezultata i jasnih kriterijuma vrednovanja. Borba protiv partitokratije i održivost Kao najveću prepreku razvoju, pokret identifikuje partitokratiju koja decenijama urušava sistem vrijednosti i blokira sposobne pojedince. Borba protiv ovog fenomena je dugoročna i zahtijeva korjenitu promjenu postojećeg političkog miljea. Fokus je na pravovremenom rješavanju problema, od komunalnih do državnih, uz proaktivno promovisanje ekonomski održivih rješenja koja su u direktnom interesu građana, a ne uskih političkih krugova.
