Every recipe is a plain-text file you own, so nothing you save can ever be locked in. RECIPES THAT KEEP THEIR STRUCTURE Most recipe apps flatten a recipe into a list and a wall of text. Cook is a recipe manager built on Cooklang, an open-source plain-text format that keeps how a recipe really works: - Sections: dough, filling, and frosting stay distinct parts of one recipe - Recipe references: your pizza links to your pizza dough instead of copying it - Notes and metadata: oven temps, timing cues, source, tags. View it by aisle or by recipe, define your own aisles in a text file, check things off, and send the list to whoever is shopping. YOUR RECIPES, YOUR FILES Recipes live in a folder as .cook text files. Keep them on this device, point the app at any folder you already sync with Google Drive, Dropbox, Syncthing, or Nextcloud, or use Cook Cloud to sync with your other phones and the desktop editor.
