Full description
Japanese? The real problem is kanji. You've tried flashcard apps. You've ground through vocaabulary lists. But kanji just won't stick — because you've been memorizing shapes instead of understanding structure. Every kanji is built from smaller components called radicals. Learn the radicals, and kanji stops being a wall of random strokes. It becomes a system — one you can actually read, remember, and use. iroiro is a Japanese vocabulary app designed to make kanji click, not just cram. How it works We break each kanji into its radicals, then lock the meaning in place with a vivid mnemonic — a short, memorable image that connects the pieces to the whole. Instead of seeing 休 as an arbitrary symbol, you see a person (亻) leaning against a tree (木) to rest. That's not a trick. That's how the character was built. Do this consistently, and something shifts: unfamiliar kanji starts to look readable. You recognize the parts, guess the meaning, and you're right more often than you'd expect. What makes iroiro JLPT different ◦ Radical decomposition + mnemonics for every kanji — understand the structure, not just the stroke order ◦ Vocabulary and kanji learned together — double the efficiency in the same study time ◦ FSRS spaced repetition algorithm — review exactly when you need to, skip what you already know ◦ Hiragana & katakana through visual association — master the basics fast ◦ Example sentences + native audio — hear how words actually sound in context ◦ Kanji writing practice — go from recognition to production ◦ Step-by-step JLPT levels (N5 → N1) — a clear path from beginner to advanced ◦ Content reviewed by a former Japanese textbook author ◦ Cross-device sync — pick up where you left off on any device Built for you if… You want to learn Japanese but kanji feels like a wall. You've been stuck on conversation because reading feels impossible. You started with a gamified app but hit a ceiling once kanji showed up. You've tried flashcard apps but the setup was too much work. You can chat in Japanese but can't read a menu. You've used other JLPT apps but kanji learning always felt like an afterthought. You review and review but forget everything within a week. You're tired of planning what to study instead of actually studying. Your learning flow 1. Master hiragana & katakana with visual mnemonics 2. Choose your JLPT level (N5 – N1) 3. Break down each kanji into radicals 4. Lock it in with a mnemonic 5. Review at the optimal time — powered by FSRS 6. Confirm with example sentences and audio 7. Seal it with writing practice Stop fighting kanji. Start understanding it. Download iroiro JLPT and learn Japanese the way kanji was meant to be learned — piece by piece.
