Chageunbyeol: Step by Step

Chageunbyeol is a free learning app made by the Taebaek Child and Adolescent Development Center in Korea. Every child learns at a different pace. Chageunbyeol helps children build the "I did it!" feeling through calm, familiar steps, without rushing. Big buttons, clear pictures and friendly voice guidance let children start on their own, even before they can read. The button to press next glows softly, so children always know what to do. ■ 17 activities [Everyday concepts] • Dates – find the year, month, day and day of the week on a calendar • Telling time – read clocks step by step, from o'clock to every minute • Numbers – count pictures and learn numbers • Money – add up US coins and bills, from cents to dollars [Words and letters] • ABC First Steps – letter names, uppercase and lowercase, first letters of words • Listen and choose – hear a word and find the right picture • Picture words – look at a picture and choose its name [Feelings and daily life] • Feelings – read faces and situations • Calm corner – calm down with balloon breathing • Picture routine – see today's tasks as pictures and finish them one by one • Sequencing – learn the order of everyday activities • Safety – learn safe actions for everyday situations • What Do I Need? – pick what each situation needs, like an umbrella for rain • Why Do We? – learn the reasons behind everyday habits [Play] • Memory match – card matching with 4, 6 or 8 cards • Coloring – fill pictures with favorite colors • Tracing – trace lines, shapes, numbers and the alphabet ■ It's okay to make mistakes • Warm voice guidance that never rushes • Review that brings back only the questions a child found tricky • Big stars for finishing, little stars for reviewing • Plenty of questions, so the same one doesn't repeat right away ■ Made for each child • Choose the easiest way to answer: cards, number pad or handwriting • Text size, high contrast, reduced motion, voice, sound and vibration settings • Profiles for several children on one device • Works on tablets (landscape and portrait) and phones ■ English and Korean • Switch the screen language with the flag button on the first screen • Families can pick an English or Korean learning course in the guardian area, with hints in the screen language ■ Guardian area A guardian area protected by a 4-digit PIN lets you change each child's settings and picture routine, and see today's and total stars and learning records. ■ Safe to use • No ads, no in-app purchases, no sign-up • Learning records are encrypted and stay on the device • No photos, voice, handwriting images or screenshots are stored • No location, camera or microphone permissions • Learning works without the internet An internet connection may be needed only the first time handwriting recognition is used, to download the recognition model.
