Four choices, five seconds, and a new chance to beat your best streak. Kana helps you recognize basic hiragana and katakana and connect them with their romaji readings through short practice sessions. Choose the matching character or reading from four answers. If you answer incorrectly or time runs out, the correct answer is highlighted. Check it, then tap it to continue. See your answer count, average answer time, average time for your last 10 answers, and best streak of correct answers at a glance. Your practice statistics are saved on your device. Use the built-in kana chart to look up a character and its romaji reading. Switch between hiragana and katakana whenever you need a reminder. The question timer pauses while the menu or chart is open. Practice and the kana chart work offline, with no account required. Kana supports Android phones and tablets. The interface is available in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, German, French, and Spanish. Kana is free to use. Ads appear only after an incorrect answer or a timeout. Correct answers keep the questions moving, so see how long you can keep your streak. If you enjoy the app, the optional “Buy me a coffee” purchase lets you support the author and remove ads. It is a one-time purchase with no subscription.
