Full description
Daphnia are mysterious creatures with astonishing vitality despite their tiny bodies. With just water, light, and the right temperature, they can reproduce without special equipment. "Daphnia Simulation" is a full-scale aquarium simulator that lets you experience the wonders of this tiny ecosystem right on your smartphone. - The Core Ecosystem Cycle (Light, Algae, and NPK) This simulator models a closed ecological cycle. Utilizing your smartphone's light sensor, you can introduce "Light" to stimulate the growth of algae (cyanobacteria). Algae perform photosynthesis, supplying "Oxygen" and serving as the primary "Food" for the daphnia, which actively prey on cyanobacteria. As daphnia consume algae, they use up food and oxygen. When they die, their remains decompose into "NPK" (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium), a powerful fertilizer that accelerates further algae growth. Balancing this delicate web of light, oxygen, food, and nutrients is the key to sustaining your population. - Realistic Biological Traits and Behavior The app meticulously replicates the distinct biological traits of daphnia: 1. Phototaxis: Daphnia react dynamically to light. They exhibit negative phototaxis, swimming away from intense light to seek cover, and positive phototaxis under moderate conditions, allowing you to guide them using your phone's sensor. 2. Hemoglobin Color Change: When the population explodes or algae plummets, oxygen levels drop. In response, daphnia synthesize hemoglobin, turning their translucent bodies vividly red. This serves as a vital visual distress signal. 3. Genetic Inheritances: Every individual possesses a unique genetic profile. Physical traits like body size, swimming speed, weight, and lifespan are governed by distinct parameters. These traits pass down to the next generation, allowing for gradual evolution over time. - Environmental Adaptations and Mutations (Environmental Variants) When your tank is pushed to the brink by harsh conditions, survivors can trigger incredible, fictional mutations adapted to their environment: - Large Species (Daphnia Magchydoridae): Adapted to nutrient-rich environments. They store vast energy to grow into giants, moving elegantly yet awkwardly. - Carnivorous Species (Daphnia Carnivorous): Born out of extreme starvation. They crawl along the bottom, scavenging on carcasses, molted shells, and weakened individuals. - Algae-Symbiotic Species (Daphnia Cyaniolus): Triggered by chronic oxygen scarcity. They incorporate algae into their bodies, gaining a stable oxygen supply via internal photosynthesis while granting the algae mobility to find light. - Luminous Species (Daphnia Luminous): A mystical mutation awakened when left in total darkness for long periods, causing them to glow beautifully. - Expanded Ecosystem and User Features The ecosystem is further enriched by other micro-organisms with distinct diets and survival strategies: - Cyclops (Copepods): Fast, darting carnivorous creatures that hunt free-floating bacteria. They are highly sensitive to water deterioration and decline if NPK levels spike. - Ostracods (Seed Shrimp): Armed with protective bivalve-like shells, they act as a clean-up crew, primarily scavenging on daphnia carcasses before they decompose, while also absorbing nutrients from NPK. - Hydra: A formidable, stationary predator that introduces a true predator-prey dynamic. To match your playstyle and device performance, the max population can be adjusted from 100 to 1,000. You can share your unique strains via LINE or the global database. Dive into this pocket-sized aquarium, manage the laws of nature, and witness the incredible survival of these tiny organisms!
