IMPERIUM is a pixel-art Roman city builder that runs in real time. You start with a handful of huts in the Alban Hills. Build, trade, fight and conquer, rise through the Senate and become emperor of Rome. A CITY THAT GROWS WHILE YOU ARE AWAY Building takes real time: a domus 5 minutes, a temple 2 hours. Close the game and come back: the work has gone on. YOU CHOOSE WHERE TO BUILD Drag every building onto the map, upgrade it to level 2 and 3, demolish what you no longer need. Clear the forest to make room and raise stone walls. BATTLES IN 3 TURNS Infantry, archers and cavalry, each strong against another. See the enemy army before you march, then pick the right tactic every turn: shield wall, flank charge or rain of arrows. RESEARCH AND WONDERS Build the Academy and study 12 technologies, from Roman concrete to the Marian reforms. Then raise the Great Lighthouse, the Circus Maximus, the Pantheon and the Colosseum, each in 3 phases, with marble as the rare resource. A CAREER IN THE SENATE Complete the missions of the Senate, earn glory and climb from village chief to consul. Each office brings a bigger city: Capua, Neapolis, Mediolanum and finally Rome.
