Ice Chute

Ice Chute is a bobsleigh game built on a real sled-and-track simulation. Push the sled off the start, load the crew and steer a two-man bob down a floodlit ice channel where the fastest line is a knife edge between the banking and the wall. THE PUSH Fifty metres of sprint decide the first tenths. Tap the left and right pads in time with the beat ring and load in before the push line. A late jump costs you time you will not win back. THE BANKING Every curve has a balanced height for your speed. Ride too low and the runners scrub, ride too high and you go over the lip. Steering adds grip but costs speed, and the wrong height at the exit sends the sled zig-zagging into the walls of the straight. REAL PHYSICS Gravity on the slope, runner friction that changes with the ice temperature, air drag, skidding and wall contact are all simulated. The HUD shows your speed, the lateral G load, split times and your position on the track profile. THE CIRCUIT Ten events on ten fictional tracks, from Pine Hollow to The Grand Chute. Each event is two heats against five computer crews, with the combined time deciding gold, silver or bronze. A coached first run shows the push, the banking and the exit step by step. TIME TRIAL Race any open track alone and chase your own fastest time with sector splits. GARAGE Spend medal points on runners, cowling, axles and bearings, push training and suspension. Every card shows the real value before and after the upgrade. Choose your livery paint. CAREER Medal cabinet, fastest run per track, top speed, maximum lateral G, completed runs and crashes, and five ranks from Rookie to Legend. Everything is personal and stays on the device.
